Stephen Marshall . . . .has been ringing handbells in church since middle school. Currently he is a high-school senior at Amerischools College Prep Academy. He joined Sonoran Bells in the summer of 2007. Although playing handbells was his first exposure to music, he has since learned the guitar. In Sonoran Bells’ performances you will mainly see him impressively slinging the bass bells.Although high school keeps him busy, in his spare time Stephen runs the light and sound systems at Tucson’s Gaslight Theatre (neither one of which, remarkably, are energized by gas). Fun as this part-time job is, the long-term career goal is to become an air traffic controller. Stephen’s hobbies are photography, computer games, and a military strategy game called Airsoft (sort of like Paintball but without the paint). Stephen originally hails from Boston, Massachusetts. His farthest journey was to the North Pole -- actually just the town of North Pole, Alaska, (located near Fairbanks) where his uncle lives. Next, however, Switzerland would be a choice spot to visit. And if a lucky lottery ticket turned up, he would buy a helicopter or a jeep wrangler. Stephen says that funny things happen to him when he is least trying to be funny. |
