Michi Michalsky. . . .has been ringing handbells since 1991, having started with the Los Campaneros handbell choir at Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She joined Sonoran Bells in 2002 and has been enjoying it ever since.Michi's has numerous hobbies, such as gardening, playing the guitar and auto-harp, dancing, arts and crafts (especially origami, her specialty), all types of sports but cycling in particular, home improvement, and computer games. She loves to meet new people, so if you come to a Sonoran Bells concert, don't hesitate to introduce yourself to her. Michi works with autistic children. She has been married for over 28 years to her husband, Dominic, who was employed by the University of Arizona. They have two beautiful daughters: Jeanette, who is also a handbell ringer, and just got married. Stephanie, who works at Trader Joes. Both are attending the U of A. Michi is originally from South Korea. She last returned there to celebrate her grandmother=s 100th birthday. When she first moved to Tucson from California, she became lost trying to find her home. When she asked for directions from a passing policeman, he gave her the strangest look; her house was right behind her! Michi says that if a fortune happen to come her way, she would buy more bells for Sonoran and then donate to World Hunger and others in need. |
