Miwa Suzuki Alden . . .joined Sonoran Bells in 2009. Miwa began ringing bells in 1981 in her school choir, Keisen Girl's School Handbell Choir. Her choir members are still famously known as the 'most energetic choir members' in her school. Before school concerts they had morning, lunch break, and after-school practices almost daily. In order to help everyone ring their bells at the same height, they set a horizontal bar in front of the tables. After a long break, Miwa took up ringing again in Vancouver, Canada, and Boston, Mass. Miwa met her husband Caleb at her company in Tokyo, Japan. They were married in Tucson in 2002. After living in Vancouver for three years and Boston for three more, in 2009 they moved back to Tucson with their daughter and their cat, Zoey. Miwa loves music, cooking, gardening, crafts, chatting, books, playing with her daughter, and tai chi.
