Miwa Suzuki Alden . . .
began ringing bells in 1981 in the her school group, Keisen Girl's School Handbell Choir. At the school, the handbell choir was one of the most popular clubs, so there were about 80 students in the club from G8 to G12. After a long break, Miwa took up ringing again in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Boston, Massachusetts. She has a long music background, and has played piano for 20 years, from the age of six. Miwa met her husband Caleb at the same company in Tokyo, Japan. They were married in Tucson in 2002. After living in Vancouver for three years and Boston for three more, in 2009 they moved back to Tucson with their daughter and their cat, Zoey. Soon thereafter, Miwa joined Sonoran Bells. Miwa enjoys her new life in the sunny Southwest. She loves music (any kind), cooking, gardening, crafts, hiking, chatting with friends, books, travel, movies, playing with her daughter and cats, skiing and tai chi. |
