Allyn Baker . . . .

joined Sonoran Bells in 2009, although she has served as a substitute ringer in the past. She has been ringing handbells for 18 years.  Recently, she convinced and taught her sister to ring bells, and has also performed duets with her.   She says that she does not really have a favorite position and just likes to play bells, though she does enjoy challenging positions.  Allyn has also been singing since 1989.  Recently, she began teaching herself to play the guitar, but says that she is not very good yet.

Allyn is a Massage Therapist, and specializes in Stone and Thai Massage.  She is planning on taking classes for Reflexology later this year.   She teaches an Anatomy, Physiology, & Pathology class and a Stone Massage class at a massage therapy school.   She also teaches Aroma therapy and Stone Massage as continuing education courses as well.  When she isn't working or involved in music, Allyn loves to knit, crochet, and bead.  Every year, she beads a glass ornament for each member of her family.

As someone who is fascinated with anatomy, Allyn has gone back to school to major in Anthropology.  Her interest in this field is the study of the human body, though that specialty will have to wait until grad school.  In the future, Allyn hopes to either teach or go into Forensic Anthropology.

A funny thing that happened once to Allyn: When she was a child riding in the car, she once blurted out, “Homeless Turtle!?” because that was what she read on a billboard that had just flashed by.  For the life of her, she could not figure out why someone would put that on a sign, until she was corrected by her sister and mother that the sign really read ‘Holmes Tuttle'.
